Hey guys,

I hope you're all well, safe and loved right now. What a fortnight it's been since I posted before Easter...

I won't give the background on this post as it's all there in the first one and anyone who follows us will know how we've set up shop with regards to homeschool and keeping our business/working from home balance going - so I'll just jump in with these.

DISCLAIMER - as I said last time, I am not a teacher and I am in no way saying that this kind of learning is right or best for anyone's child...all I know is that my own little one loved the last lot and is loving these too - that's enough for me! I'm not a fan of screens (Isla sees enough of those in her downtime as she's quite the little gamer!) and even in this gorgeous weather, if I'm going to have a chance of getting any work done, I need to keep her busy with some independent activities.

I've seen so many "this is how parents should be acting" posts this week and to be honest I'm super fed up of them all to the point it's making me kinda sad. Whichever side of the fence folks are on, as parents we all have to do what's right for our own families - so if like me, you want a bit of traditional school structure to keep your little people busy - there's abso-freakin-lutely nothing wrong with it! Equally if you're enjoying your own ways of spending time with your kids - ALSO AWESOME! Be kind to other peoples choices - we're all finding a way through this in our own ways...

Like last time, there are all sorts of things in here from craft, cooking and forest school to numbers, phonics and writing.

Hopefully these are useful guys. If you want to download all 50 pages click here for girls and here for boys.

Peace and love,
The Jam Fam xx

Printable Home Schooling Worksheets

Hey lovelies.

After such a lovely (and much bigger than I was expecting) response to Isla's home school activities that I have shared on the Instagram stories this week I have added the links to the workbook below.

To give anyone new to Jam Jar (heeeeyyyy!!!) a bit of background a to why a wedding stylist is posting home school sheets...

Like so many other businesses right now, we aren't able to do what we do best (which is weddings in our case), so I'm throwing myself into focusing on the most important things I have - the jamfam . The centre of our world is our mini jam jar - Isla. She is 5 and absolutely adores learning. We've worked super hard as parents to make it that way and I am adamant that I'm not going to let the school closures get in the way of her development. We are very lucky to have a bright little girl and we know that if we leave her to her own devices while Mr Jam Jar and I are working from home she will get pretty fed up as she thrives on structure and loves projects. We have had very little from Isla's school (we're not judging, but we are disappointed) so I spent a few hours last weekend putting this together to keep us going for this week.

We have turned her bedroom into a café and all of the activities (other than forest school) are based around the theme of her own café. We're on day three of it and she has asked me more than once if she can skip her playtime and if we can do school at the weekend too so I know it's the right thing for her.

As I said in my last post with the timetable printables - I am in NO WAY saying that this is the level of work parents and children should be doing if it's not right for them. Everyone is juggling their commitments and their mental health right now so please don't feel that I am posting a "this is how it's done" post - I am not. I'm just trying to help other parents who like us might feel like they need a little more help right now, especially for little learners of Isla's age.

I am lucky enough to have a good skillset when it comes to making things look pretty on a computer, so rather than wedding stationery I threw a few hours at making these instead.

Disclaimer - I am not a teacher. Just a momma who wants her baby to keep learning, me to keep on working and our family to have some structure as we get through this.

I will be adding a featured story at the top of the Instagram to show you how we're using them if it's helpful.

These workbooks are for PARENTS who need a little help and my love and hugs go out to all of you. We didn't sign up to be teachers, and if like me, the idea of trawling pinterest and twinkl or plonking little ones in front of youtube isn't your thing (again - not judging, it's just how I am) - hopefully these will go some way to help. Just click the links below to download them. Green one is forest school and the pink are all café.

Speak soon guys, much love - Nadia and the Jamfam xxx

Homes Schooling Your Little Ones Through COVID-19

Hi guys,

I don't really get a lot of time to blog anymore but given that I'm going to be at home for quite a while, I have decided to open a new blog page up on the site.  Starting with something a little off-topic.

I posted this out on the insta stories yesterday and a few people came back to me to say that they would find it useful so I've uploaded it here for you.

For those who don't know us - we are a family of three and the mini one in the centre is Isla, she is 5 and in reception. We haven't had much of anything in the way of activities to keep her busy from her school yet and with mine and hubby's jobs still very much happening from home, I needed to create some structure so that none of us are missing out on any of the time we should be spending working and learning.

After a week of letting us all get our heads around working differently for a few weeks or months, I finally felt ready yesterday to get a proper plan in place to make this work.

A lot of the things I chose are things that Isla can do independently, but I have made sure to do a few things every day with her that mean she's getting some guided learning too. Disclaimer - I'm no teacher, just a mommy who doesn't want her baby (or myself!) to stop learning during this. As you will see, creativity and getting outside are things I care a lot about so they are in there every day in ours.

Today I'm planning next weeks "lessons" and if anyone would like me to share my pinterest boards, worksheets or activities I'm more than happy to.

I also want to say - if you're not planning to "school" your kids over the coming months - THAT'S ABSOLUTELY FINE! We all have to do whatever works for us in times like these and I don't want anyone to interpret this as a "this is how it should be done" kind of post. It genuinely isn't. This is just the way I feel like I can get us through this giving me time to work on the businesses and giving her the chance to carry on enjoying her learning.

Downloads in the links below, I have done blank ones for boys, girls and groups and I've also included  the filled in one of Isla's if it helps.

Take care guys xx
