Hey there Jam Jarers!
I hope you're all having a splendid leap year day. Today's post is one for you green fingered crafters.
We've decided on baking our own wedding cake at the Jam Jar wedding next year, and since perusing pinterest for decoration ideas we've decided that edible flowers are what our hearts desire! Check out this gorgeous board from Maddocks Farm on pinterest to see what we're aiming for: https://uk.pinterest.com/maddocksfarmorg/edible-flowers-for-naked-wedding-cakes/
This year is a practice run for next years real deal so we thought we'd blog through the process to show any fellow bakers if it's worth doing at home or whether we should all head to the experts!
After googling which flowers would match our colour scheme of Navy and Peach we decided on Borage, Lavender, Cornflowers and Nasturtiums. After a quick trip to Wilkinsons and Aldi (yes - we are that rock n roll!) we now have our supplies ready to get going - and it cost us less than £12!
Seeds (3 for 2) £3.40
Compost (we went for a special seed sewing one as we want to give our little guys a fighting chance!) £3.50
Seed Trays with propagating lids - £3.99
We'll be potting up later in the week so will add another little post once we're up and running...or growing as the case will hopefully be!
Have a fab day dears - make this extra one count!
Peace and love xxx
